bhakta-gaṇe prabhu nāma-mahimā kahila
śuniyā paḍuyā tāhāṅ artha-vāda kaila


SYNONYMS

bhakta-gaṇe — unto the devotees; prabhu — the Lord; nāma-mahimāglories of the holy name; kahila — explained; śuniyā — hearing; paḍuyā — the students; tāhāṅ — there; artha-vāda — interpretation; kaila — did.


TRANSLATION

Once when the Lord explained the glories of the holy name to the devotees, some ordinary students who heard Him fashioned their own interpretation.
